According to a report in the Birmingham Mail, Aston Villa are leading a number of Championship clubs for the signature of Paris FC centre-back Samuel Yohou.
Steve Bruce is in serious need of defensive reinforcements this summer as John Terry has left the club, Christopher Samba hasn’t been given a new contract, James Chester could leave for a Premier League side, while Tommy Elphick is expected to join Reading permanently.
The 26-year-old, who has played for the Ivory Coast youth team, is a free agent after having decided not to renew his contract for the Parisian club.
He played 22 times last season for the Ligue 2 side, and his impressive defensive displays helped them to finish 8th in the table, just four points away from a play-off position.
His impressive form has alerted a number of clubs to his availability, with two other unknown clubs in the Championship also supposedly interested in acquiring his services. However, it’s believed that Villa will be able to fend off any potential rivals for his signature.
