Villa want Tuanzebe again
Aston Villa are considering signing Manchester United defender Axel Tuanzebe on another season-long loan, the Birmingham Mail reports.
The 20-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Villa as they narrowly missed out on promotion to the Premier League, but injuries meant that he made just five appearances.
Tuanzebe was primarily used at right-back last season, where he impressed Villa manager Steve Bruce.
However, Tuanzebe’s preferred position is in central defence and Villa now have vacancies in that position due to the departures of centre-backs John Terry and Chris Samba.
James Chester could also be set to leave Villa Park this summer as Bruce faces losing his star players so that Villa meet Financial Fair Play regulations.
A loan-deal for Tuanzebe would suit the financially struggling Villa, with Bruce promising that he will use all of his contacts and experience to add to his squad this summer.
Tuanzebe is expected to join the rest of the United squad on their pre-season tour of America later this month.
