Aston Villa linked with loan move for Real Madrid Youngster

According to a report in the Daily Mirror, Real Madrid want to continue Martin Odegaard’s development by sending him out on loan to the Championship, and Aston Villa is one of the clubs that is being mentioned as a possible destination.

The extremely talented teenager, who at the age of 15 years and 253 days became the youngest player to play for the Norwegian senior team, spent last season on loan at Heerenveen, but the Los Blancos now want to test him in what is known to be one of the most difficult leagues in the world.

If Villa were able to acquire his services for a season, it would be a wonderful piece of business. The 19-year-old would help take some of the creativity burden away from Jack Grealish, which could end up being crucial come the end of the season.

Every game, Grealish is marked by two or three opponents, who have no qualms about kicking him all over the field so that he has little time to influence the play.

However, if Grealish and Odegaard are playing together, opposing teams simply won’t be able to gang up on both playmakers. This could end up creating space that both players thrive on.
