Hull City interested in signing out of favor Villa defender

According to Hull Live, Hull City are interested in signing Tommy Elphick on loan from Aston Villa before the loan transfer window slams shut tomorrow afternoon.

Hull manager Nigel Adkins wants to try to get a number of players in the door before the 5pm deadline, and Elphick is believed to be one of those at the top of his wish list.

Steve Bruce clearly doesn’t rate Elphick that highly, so it is believed that he will be allowed to leave the club should Villa manage to finalise a deal for 20-year-old Harold Moukoudi from Le Havre.

The Tigers have conceded 9 goals in their opening five matches, so Adkins is looking to sign an experienced defender to help sure up his leaky defence. The fact that Elphick has leadership qualities having captained Bournemouth and Brighton doesn’t hurt either.

However, there are a number of other clubs supposedly interested, including QPR and Rangers, so they might not have it all their own way when it comes to acquiring his signature.
