Villa are set to sign young Wolves defender

According to reports in the Birmingham Mail, Wolves have accepted a bid from Aston Villa for Kortney Hause.

The 23-year-old, who plays as a centre-back, has not managed to break into  Nuno Espirito Santo’s first team this season, and he is so far down the pecking order that he is unlikely to do so soon. Therefore, he is seeking regular football elsewhere to get his career back on track.

Meanwhile, Dean Smith’s side are conceding far too many goals and are seriously short on natural central defenders, so this is a deal that will certainly suit both parties.

It is believed that the youngster will undergo a medical at some stage this week, but as he only signed a new contract for Wolves last season, it is thought that a sell-on clause will be added to his contract.

Hause has played 19 times for England U21s and was part of the squad that won the 2016 Toulon Tournament.
