Aston Villa fans are delighted as Wesley is pictured in training

A number of Aston Villa fans have been sharing their happiness at Wesley being pictured back in training.

It hasn’t been the most positive week at Villa Park, following last weekend’s shock 3-0 defeat at home to Leeds United.

It was a result that many weren’t expecting, considering Dean Smith’s side had started the Premier League season with four wins in a row.

Villa need to bounce back from that disappointment, however, with Sunday’s visit of Southampton a huge opportunity to.

Smith and his players have been preparing for the game throughout the week, with various photos emerging from training.

There was one that stood out on Thursday, however, with Villa’s Twitter account sharing a picture of Wesley chatting to Emiliano Martinez, with the caption “step-by-step” above it, indicating that he is nearing a return from injury.

Wesley hasn’t played for Villa since picking up a cruciate ligament problem away to Burnley back on January 2nd, highlighting how serious the injury was.

It is hoped that the Brazilian will be back on the pitch soon, though, acting as a boost to Smith, in terms of quality and squad depth.

These Villa supporters have been reacting to the photo on Twitter, showing their love for Wesley.
