Aston Villa have arrived in Bangkok for the second leg of their pre-season tour of Asia, with Unai Emery’s side preparing to face BG Pathum United on Tuesday. Villa travelled to Thailand after opening the trip with a 3-1 victory over Indonesia All Stars in Jakarta.
Emery’s squad received a warm welcome after arriving in Bangkok on Monday before travelling to the True BG Stadium in Pathum Thani for training. Villa will face their Thai hosts at the same venue on Tuesday, with kick-off scheduled for 1.30pm BST.

Aston Villa continue preparations in Bangkok
Villa’s first day in Thailand also included several events away from the training pitch. Former defenders James Chester and Ahmed Elmohamady helped deliver a football clinic for local children at BG Pathum United’s training centre before the senior squad began their session.
Emery and Ian Maatsen then spoke to local media at a pre-match press conference, while the Villa manager also met supporters at the stadium. Alysson, Emi Buendía and Pau Torres later attended a fan event in Bangkok, signing shirts and memorabilia during the club’s latest community engagement event on tour.
The focus will now return firmly to football. Villa confirmed their two-match Asian tour schedule earlier this summer, with Tuesday’s game against BG Pathum following the Indonesia All Stars fixture before Emery’s squad move on again.
Villa beat Indonesia All Stars 3-1 through goals from Buendía, Ross Barkley and Brian Madjo, while Alejandro Garnacho made his first appearance for the club.
Emery will now have another opportunity to distribute minutes across his squad in Thailand before preparations step up again later this week.
