Aston Villa are reportedly among the clubs monitoring Sunderland striker Brian Brobbey following his impressive start to the season.
The Netherlands international has attracted renewed transfer interest after scoring a hat-trick against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium earlier this month.
According to FootballFanCast, Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur are among several clubs keeping tabs on the 24-year-old ahead of a possible future move.
Manchester United have also been linked with the Sunderland forward.
Aston Villa linked with Brian Brobbey
Brobbey joined Sunderland from Ajax in 2025 in a deal worth a reported £17.3million plus add-ons and scored seven Premier League goals during his first season in England.
His recent hat-trick against Manchester City has increased attention around his future.
Separate reports suggest Sunderland now value Brobbey at around £50million, although there is no indication Aston Villa have submitted a bid or opened negotiations.
Villa already have considerable competition at centre-forward.
Our Nicolas Jackson and Tammy Abraham striker analysis highlighted the options currently available to Unai Emery, with Jackson also scoring for Senegal during the international break.
Any interest in Brobbey would therefore raise questions over Villa’s longer-term plans rather than an immediate shortage of attacking options.
Our Aston Villa transfer tracker will follow whether the reported monitoring develops into anything more concrete.
