Aston Villa enjoyed a 1-0 win over Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday afternoon and Emi Buendia was one of many players praised for his performance. The 25-year-old scored the winning goal on Merseyside and was given a player rating of 8/10 by Birmingham Live for his performance.
No player had more shots on target or blocked more shots, while only player made more tackles and had more successful dribbles, so it’s not a surprise that fans on social media showered the Argentine in praise. He was criticised earlier in the campaign but is finally looking like a £38m player.
Against Everton, Buendia played for 90 minutes, had 47 touches, won one aerial duel, completed 76.2% of his 21 passes, had four shots with 50% hitting the target, made four tackles, blocked two shots, made one interception, had three successful dribbles, made one clearance and was fouled once.
The 25-year-old has made 21 appearances in all competitions since joining on a five-year deal from Norwich City, scoring two goals with three assists. Buendia struggled for consistency early on but has impressed of late and has won the supporters over.
