Morgan Sanson came off the bench in Aston Villa’s 2-1 defeat to Manchester City and made a big impression, so much so that he marked the occasion with a post on his Instagram.
The 27-year-old only played for 13 minutes but turned over possession well and carried the ball brilliantly from deep, so he had every right to be pleased with his performance.

Sanson’s outing against Man City was his first Premier League appearance of the season, having struggled with injuries for months, so he’ll be hoping it’s the first of many.
The central midfielder has Marvelous Nakamba, John McGinn and Douglas Luiz standing in his way of getting a start, however, so he may have to be patient for opportunities.
Sanson has made only two appearances across the board, amassing 55 minutes of playing time, so he has a lot of catching up to do. Villa lock horns with Leicester City on Sunday afternoon and some fans believe he deserves a start.
Playing time has been limited since his arrival in January due to injury woes, but Sanson proved in midweek that he’s worth the trouble.
