According to a recent report from the Birmingham Mail, West Brom are weighing up an audacious move for Aston Villa target and Hull forward Abel Hernandez this summer.
The Baggies have been on the lookout for strikers this summer and they’ve reportedly identified Hernandez as their next target, amid Villa’s reported interest in him.
Hernandez led the line for Hull yesterday as they made their long-awaited return to the Premier League with a surprise victory over Leicester City, beating the reigning champions 2-1.
Villa will be looking to bolster their forward options ahead of what promises to be a testing first season in the Championship since their relegation from the Premier League.
However, it was recently reported that the Uruguay international had hinted at his potential interest in joining Villa this summer, meaning that he could favour a move to Villa Park over one to The Hawthorns.
The 26-year-old forward has Premier League experience and Championship experience, scoring 20 goals last season to fire Hull back into the top-flite, something that Villa will certainly be interested in.
