According to a report in the Birmingham Mail, Steve Bruce wants to make Manchester United keeper Sam Johnstone his first January transfer. The 23-year-old is currently behind David De Gea and Sergio Romero in United’s goalkeeping pecking order and, as a result, he is currently looking to go out on loan somewhere so that he can get […]
Steve Bruce’s run of seven games without defeat as Aston Villa manager came to an abrupt and sudden halt on Saturday evening thanks to a 2-0 loss against Leeds United at Elland Road. In truth, it was probably the worst performance that we have seen since Bruce took over from Roberto Di Matteo a little under two months ago. They were […]
A report in the Birmingham Mail has been looking into some statistics surrounding Aston Villa’s time on the telly, and it does not make for pretty reading. As we know, Steve Bruce suffered his first loss as Villa boss when his side went down 2-0 to Leeds United at Elland Road on Saturday evening. This match was their ninth televised […]
Steve Bruce tasted his first defeat as Aston Villa manager as his side deservedly went down 2-0 to Leeds at Elland Road. It, if we are to be perfectly honest, was a very poor performance from Bruce’s men. They were sloppy from the first minute, right up until the last, with Jedinak’s poor pass (to no one in particular), […]
Steve Bruce’s unbeaten run continued with Aston Villa’s 3-1 win over Cardiff City last weekend, meaning that they have now collected 15 points from the last 21 available to them (four wins and three draws). This great form has seen the Villans rise to 11th in the table, just four points off of a play-off […]
Steve Bruce’s Aston Villa side kept their unbeaten record alive with a 1-1 draw against high-fliers Brighton and Hove Albion last Friday evening. It was another solid performance from the Villans and, if truth be told, they were unlucky not to walk away with all three points. Next up for Villa is a home match against […]
International football is over and it means that Villa return to action this weekend, taking on Brighton and Hove Albion. Luckily for Steve Bruce, it seems that all of the players who were out on international duty have returned relatively unscathed. However, one cause for concern is Jordan Amavi, who picked up a small knock […]
The third international break of the season is upon us and, therefore, there are six senior Villa players who, within the next week or so, will be flying to different places all over the world to represent their respective countries. It is well-known that a lot of fans do not particularly like international breaks due to the fact that it means that there […]
Just as Villa are gathering momentum under Steve Bruce up pops yet another international break to try to slow us down. Let’s just hope that all of our key players who are on international duty return injury free so that we can continue on our merry way up the table with a win against Brighton on the […]
Aston Villa owner Dr. Tony Xia, unlike Randy Lerner, knows the importance of giving something back to the club’s loyal supporters. As a result, he is constantly on the look out for new ways to do just this, and his latest idea might be his best yet. The Chinese business man, who is well known for […]
Steve Bruce continued his four game unbeaten run as Villa manager with the draw at St Andrews last Sunday. While this was not the result that any Villa fan wanted, a point apiece was a fair result and, who knows, it might be a vital point come the end of the season. Next up for […]
Steve Bruce’s return to St. Andrew’s on Sunday saw Villa walk away with their 9th draw of the season. This draw, whilst not being the result that Villa fans would have wanted, maintains Bruce’s unbeaten start as Villa manager; 2 wins and 2 draws. If truth be told, the draw was probably a fair result. Birmingham did have nearly […]
