The biggest game of Steve Bruce’s short tenure is fast approaching; the Second City derby against Villa’s fiercest rivals Birmingham City. Bruce’s Villa career has got off to an absolute flier with two wins and a draw from his opening three games. These seven points from a possible nine have pushed Villa up to 16th; only six points […]
On Tuesday evening, Steve Bruce inspired Villa to their first away win in 14 months. However, Villa fans were then reminded of another depressing stat which goes back further than this; it has been around 17 months since Villa recorded back-to-back victories. You will have to go all the way back to May 2015 to find the last time […]
Aston Villa followed up their first away win in 14 months with their first back-to-back wins in 17 months. Villa defeated Fulham 1-0 courtesy of Jonathan Kodjia’s stunning volley in the 80th minute; his third goal in as many matches. This win moves Villa up to 16th in the table with 17 points; only 6 points behind […]
Steve Bruce has only been Villa manager for a little over a week and, in this short period of time, he has already achieved something that both Remi Garde and Roberto Di Matteo could not; he has won a match away from home. The last Villa manager who tasted an away victory was Tim Sherwood when his team beat Bournemouth on the opening day of […]
Aston Villa have won away, I repeat, Villa have won away. This is no sick joke, this is reality. When Villa beat Bournemouth at Dean Court on the 8th August 2015, not one single Villa fan, not even the most pessimistic among us, envisioned that it would be a whopping 438 days before they saw their […]
According to Goal, Italian giants Juventus are now on the look out for a replacement for their legendary keeper, Gianluigi Buffon. The 38-year-old is coming to the end of his very successful and highly decorated career. He has been playing with Juventus for 15 years and has won the Serie A 7 times. To add to this, he […]
After Saturday’s very lucky draw against Wolves, Steve Bruce will have realised that there is a lot of work that needs to be done with his Aston Villa team. The players are clearly lacking in both confidence and fitness and Bruce needs to change this quickly if Villa are to get anywhere close to challenging for promotion this season. […]
So Steve Bruce’s tenure as Aston Villa owner started off with yet another draw; this time against Wolves at Villa Park. This now means that out of 12 league games, they have drawn eight, won one and lost three. If truth be told, this was a point that Aston Villa did not deserve as they were pretty poor for the […]
The international break is often looked down upon by football fans all over the country; however, there is no denying the fact that it came along at a very good time for Aston Villa. It gave Dr. Xia two club football free weeks to find the right manager to replace Roberto Di Matteo. On Wednesday, Steve Bruce was announced as […]
The second international break of the season is already upon us and, therefore, there are 11 Villa players who, within the next week, will be flying to different places all over the world to represent their respective countries. It is well known that a lot of fans do not particularly like international breaks due to the fact that it means […]
So Roberto Di Matteo has been sacked after just 124 days in charge of Aston Villa. Out of the 11 league games that Villa have played under Di Matteo, they have won only one, drawn seven and lost two. Five of those draws were down to conceding late goals in the 85th, 86th, 87th, 88th, 89th and […]
Aston Villa made it seven draws in 10 games when they conceded (yet again) in the dying stages of the game against Barnsley. This now means that in the opening ten games of this season they have conceded a late equaliser in the 85th, 86th, 87th, 88th and 89th minute. Us Villa fans will be hoping that the […]
