Justine Kielland Expresses Excitement After Joining Aston Villa Women

Justine Kielland has described her move to Aston Villa Women as an exciting next step after completing her switch from VfL Wolfsburg.

Villa confirmed Kielland’s arrival from Wolfsburg earlier this week, subject to visa approval, with the Norway international adding senior European experience to Natalia Arroyo’s midfield.

The club have since pushed new arrival content around the 22-year-old, including a first interview and behind-the-scenes media on Aston Villa Women’s Instagram account.

Read Aston Villa previously covered Kielland’s arrival as a midfield signing with Champions League experience from Brann and Wolfsburg. Read Aston Villa has also looked at how she could give Arroyo a stronger platform in central areas.

Kielland’s first message adds useful context. She arrives at Villa with the tone of a player ready for a bigger role, not one simply filling out the squad.

Arroyo has already added to her midfield this summer, with Read Aston Villa covering Kamilla Melgård’s move from Madrid CFF. Kielland gives Villa another Norway international and a player with recent experience at a Champions League club.

Villa need new signings to settle quickly before the new Women’s Super League season. Kielland’s early comments suggest she expects responsibility and rhythm straight away.

For Arroyo, that attitude should help. Villa have strengthened the midfield department, but the next step involves turning those additions into a group that can raise standards in training and give the team more control in matches.
