October 5 update: Mbaye provides Senegal winner
Ibrahim Mbaye supplied the assist for Iliman Ndiaye’s goal as Senegal beat Comoros 1–0 in Marseille on Sunday.
His cross produced the decisive moment after five minutes, following his winning goal against Ethiopia earlier in the international window.

McGinn scores as Scotland beat North Macedonia
John McGinn converted a penalty in Scotland’s 2–0 victory over North Macedonia on Saturday.
The midfielder’s 92nd appearance also moved him clear of Jim Leighton into third place on Scotland’s all-time caps list.

Manzambi helps Switzerland win again
Johan Manzambi featured in Switzerland’s 2–1 victory over Slovenia before manager Murat Yakin called for greater protection for the midfielder.

Mbaye and Jackson combine for Senegal
Villa’s attacking pair supplied the decisive moment in Senegal’s victory over Ethiopia on Tuesday.
Jackson released Mbaye for the only goal after 11 minutes. Le Soleil’s report, carried by SenePlus, describes a difficult second half as Senegal protected their advantage.
The result followed their opening 1-1 draw with Mozambique, in which Jackson scored.
Manzambi and McGinn experience contrasting nights
Manzambi played 63 minutes as Switzerland won 3-0 at Hampden Park. McGinn completed the match for Scotland, whose task became considerably harder following Jack Hendry’s early dismissal.

Lindelöf assists against Cash’s Poland
Lindelöf helped create Benjamin Nygren’s early opener in Sweden’s 3-1 victory over Poland.
Cash threatened at the other end, but Sweden scored twice after the interval to secure the points.

Ruggeri started Italy’s 4-1 victory over Turkey after missing the matchday squad against Belgium.

Zion Suzuki helps Japan reach the Kirin Cup final
Zion Suzuki kept a clean sheet against Ecuador on Thursday 1 October before saving a decisive penalty in Japan’s shootout victory.
The match finished goalless, with the Aston Villa goalkeeper then denying Castillo as Japan converted all five of their penalties.

It follows his second-half return against Venezuela on Monday, after a rib problem disrupted the start of his international break.
